A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a spelling error. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam emails, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also essential to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you’ve got a shared service with us and you would like to activate the catch-all feature for a particular email mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally just one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can select one single email address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all messages sent to misspelled addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will display a warning notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The custom-built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with every semi-dedicated server plan that we’re offering will permit you to configure a catch-all email mailbox effortlessly even if you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox that you’ve set up with your domain names in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you’ve already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding activated. If you decide that you do not need this feature any longer, you can remove it by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
